The goal of FreeCell is to move all cards to the four foundation piles, building each suit from Ace to King. Use the four free cells strategically as temporary storage.
Uses a standard 52-card deck
All cards are dealt face up into 8 tableau columns
The first 4 columns get 7 cards each, the remaining 4 columns get 6 cards each
Four free cells are available for temporary card storage
Four foundation piles start empty
Only the bottom card of each tableau column can be moved
Build tableau sequences in descending order with alternating colors
Each free cell can hold exactly one card
Empty tableau columns can hold any card
The number of cards you can move depends on available free cells and empty columns
Build foundation piles from Ace to King in the same suit
Cards can be moved to foundations from tableau columns or free cells
Foundation cards can sometimes be moved back to the tableau if needed
Win by moving all 52 cards to the four foundation piles
Almost every FreeCell deal is solvable with the right strategy
Use free cells and empty columns strategically to create the moves you need
